CELEBS DO IT BETTER: Halloween

Its that time of year again. Pumpkin Spice is in the air, and scary clown pranks are going viral. Halloween is just around the corner, and it’s time to start planning the collection of costumes. These 5 celebrities and their legendary Halloween costumes prove that celebrities really do it better.

I feel like we have to start by paying homage to the queen of Halloween: Heidi Klum. Each year Heidi somehow manages to out shine her costume from the previous year, and bring delightful characters and ideas from our wildest dreams to life. Over the years she has dressed as Betty Boop, an outrageously colourful butterfly and a Transformer. Most recently, Heidi Klum perfected her costume of the iconic sex-symbol cartoon, Jessica Rabbit. If you are looking for Halloween inspiration, go no further than Heidi Klum.
Katy Perry is another star that has excelled in her pop-culture references come Halloween time. In 2012, Katy donned the outfit of everyone’s favorite cynical sidekick, Jane Lane. In 2014, Katy struck gold again with her recreation of a Hot Cheeto. The quirky star has been known for her outrageously creative music video costuming, and her Halloween looks certainly do not disappoint.
Another fabulous Halloween pop-culture reference came from Australian rap artist, Iggy Azalea. Iggy rocked up to the Vevo Halloween party as every child’s most feared Disney villain; Cruella de Vil. The outfit was even completed with a real Dalmatian!
In the past few years, actor Colton Haynes has shown true dedication to the art of Halloween costuming, going through the grueling process of hours of makeup application. The process was worth it however, with the past two years in particular standing out. In 2014, Colton dressed as Fiona from Shrek, green skin and all, and in 2015, he appeared dressed as the Little Mermaid’s Ursula. You’ve got to give it to him; this man is dedicated to Halloween.
This last one is a personal favourite of mine, Rihanna partied it up on Halloween with her squad, dressed as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This was a perfect pop culture reference, as the reboot movie had premiered just months before.

So there you have it. My top 5 picks for celebrities who do it better at Halloween. Hopefully these looks have inspired you to dress outside the box this Halloween.
